This Illustrated Phrases book consists of 155 pictures covering various topics such as animals, clothes, fruit, vegetables, food and drink, transport, furnishings, various domestic and office appliances, nature. The pictures are described and commented in phrases in Arabic, translated into English, with historical references concerning some objects.
Abdallah Nacereddine taught Arabic at the United Nations in Geneva for over twenty-two years, while directing his own Institute for Arabic Language Teaching in Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, and Zurich. He led Arabic language courses at the League of Arab States and in conjunction with the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and recently taught at the International Labour Office. His teaching materials are the result of this experience and have been thoroughly tested in class. He is the author, in particular, of Fundamental Arabic Textbook (2nd ed., 2011), A New Approach to Teaching Arabic Grammar (2nd ed., 2010) and his autobiography To Be Oneself: The Tragicomedy of an Unfinished Life History.
